VNA February Meeting: Village Park, Embankment, “Tax Revolt”

The Village Neighborhood Association holds their monthly meeting on the second Tuesday of the month in the Auditorium of the Dr. Michael Conti Public School (PS #5). Meetings begin at 7:30pm and are open to the public. Please use the school’s main entrance located at 182 Merseles Street.

Village Park Update and Hudson County Open Space Fund Petition
Rob Crow & Michelle La Monica Egar
Rob and Michelle will update the members on the Village Park progress and the Open Space Grant Application process. The Village Park Committee will have a petition for VNA members to sign in support of the project and funding from “Hudson County Open Space Trust Fund” HCOSTF.

Embankment Preservation Coalition
Christina Donnelly
Christina will give a brief update on the progress of the 6th Street Embankment and will also present a petition for funding from the Hudson County Open Space Trust Fund for the VNA members to sign in support of their efforts.

8:15 pm – 8:30 pm
“Tax Revolt” Discussion
Esther Winter and Irene Barnaby
Esther and Irene will address the group to discuss the recent Jersey City tax increase and how that will impact homeowners and the City and what our options are in reversing the tide.

Open Discussion and Coffee
