Al Festa began the Benson Ridge Project in January 2010 to provide opportunities for musicians to “get out there and do what they love – perform in front of an appreciative and well fed, well behaved crowd”. The Project’s mission is to share good feelings with friends, give musicians a showcase to perform and to eat good Italian meatballs (from his Grandma’s secrete recipe). According to Al, key words that define the Benson Ridge Project are inclusion, tolerance, instincts (listen) and innovation.

But every once in a while, he’ll take his acoustic guitar, step on stage, and face the audience, regaling them with his own wry, often satiric folk tales of life in Hudson County, with a style reminiscent of John Prine, Loudon Wainwright III, and Tom Leher.

4:15: OVERLAKE
Formed in early 2012 within the walls of JC Studios, Overlake have spent the past year and a half polishing a sound uniquely their own, while paying debts to musical touchstones such as My Bloody Valentine and Sonic Youth.
